San Francisco Symphony opened its 2009-10 season with three waltzes, one piano, and a red carpet style celebration. Michael Tilson Thomas and 27-year old Lang Lang dazzled and the red carpet sizzled. Watch the video:


All proceeds from the opening night performance are dedicated to music education programs. Some of San Francisco’s public schoolchildren are getting new instruments this year, and all of them are getting music education classes, thanks to patrons of San Francisco Symphony’s opening night gala.
