ZooFest 2017: Call of the Wild, San Francisco Zoological Society’s annual fundraising event on April 28th highlighted the spirit of volunteerism at San Francisco Zoo & Gardens. Some 400 supporters gathered for an animal care inspired celebration filled with cocktails, dinner, and dancing, co-chaired by Elizabeth and Jeff Minick.
The Zoo honored Bank of America for its longstanding commitment and service. “We are incredibly fortunate to have hundreds of generous volunteers who make it possible for SF Zoo to advance youth education and wildlife conservation efforts,” said Tanya M. Peterson, President of San Francisco Zoo & Gardens. “Over the years, Bank of America has been tremendously impactful to our operation with gifts of employee volunteer time and program support.” Thousands of bank employees have volunteered a cumulative 21,000 hours at the Zoo. Cumulative corporate and employee personal support totals about $1.8 million. Funds raised at ZooFest benefit the care and comfort of the Zoo’s 2,000 animals.
