Yuka Uehara for the Arthritis Foundation
The Bay Area Arthritis Auxiliary presented San Francisco based fashion designer Yuka Uehara at the 15th annual Fashion Fights Arthritis event at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco on October 20, 2017. Yuka Uehara presented a breathtaking runway show that featured her Tokyo Gamine Haute Couture collection in a dance performance by Menlowe Ballet.
Fashion Fights Arthritis Chair Judy Jorgensen welcomed some 300 supporters for the show, champagne reception, luncheon, and live auction that also celebrated Arthritis Foundation Youth Honoree Katie Taves.
The Northern California Arthritis Foundation’s Fashion Fights Arthritis offers a fun, lighthearted way of talking about the seriousness of arthritis – the nation’s leading cause of disability. More than 50 million adults and 300,000 kids in the U.S. have arthritis, including 5.9 million adults in California alone. Proceeds from Fashion Fights Arthritis help the Arthritis Foundation provide potentially life-changing information and resources, access to optimal care, advancements in science and community connections.
