Research shows that the damage caused by prolonged toxic stress in childhood can last a lifetime. Headstand equips students with tools and skills such as mindfulness practices, yoga techniques, and social and emotional learning to offset stress, as an integrated part of school curriculum.

The 7th annual Headstand Gala attracted some 200 supporters on Friday, October 13th at the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco. Gala Chair Pamela Culp, along with Headstand Founder and President Katherine Priore Ghannam welcomed guests with a champagne reception followed by an elegant dinner and inspirational program. Highlights of the evening included the presentation of the Headstand Child Advocacy Award to Jan Yanehiro, and a panel discussion with four student advocates of the program moderated by Carolyne Zinko, features reporter for San Francisco Chronicle.
