Wender Weis Foundation for Children Earns Giants Jersey

Wender Weis Foundation for Children celebrated 20 years of support for charities that serve children in need throughout the San Francisco Bay Area on September 18, 2014. The Giants Community Fund, the 49ers Foundation, 49ers Academy, Raphael House and San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center are just a few of the local nonprofits that WWFC helps.

WWFC influencers, supporters, and friends gathered to recognize founder Amy Wender-Hoch‘s commitment to underserved Bay Area children at a reception in the penthouse suite of San Francisco’s Fairmont Hotel. In an expression of gratitude Sue Petersen, executive director of the Giants Community Fund, presented Wender-Hoch with a “WWFC” labeled San Francisco Giants framed jersey with the number “20”.

About the Giants Community Fund:

The Giants Community Fund collaborates with the San Francisco Giants by using baseball as a forum to encourage underserved youth and their families to live healthy, productive lives. WWFC hosts these youth at unique fundraising events, most notably its annual Holiday Heroes party at AT&T Park.

Wender-Hoch announced an exciting line-up of Bay Area athletes for the 2014 Holiday Heroes event at AT&T Park, on December 8th. Confirmed Bay Area athletes include Taiwan Jones, Justin Tuck and LaMarr Woodley of the Oakland Raiders, Dennis Brown, Josh Johnson and Stevie Johnson from the San Francisco 49ers, Adonal Foyle of the Golden State Warriors and Olympic Gold Medalist Jonny Moseley.  More athletes are expected to confirm their attendance in the coming weeks.
