Rebuilding Together for 20 Years

Rebuilding Together San Francisco will celebrate 20 years providing free repair and renovations for low income, elderly and disabled San Franciscans on October 17, 2009, at the San Francisco Design Center.  Rebuilding Together supporters provide financial assistance and a team of volunteers to address basic living and quality of life needs for homeowners.

Founded in 1989 in response to the Loma Prieta earthquake, known as “Christmas in April,” the organization was a grassroots collaboration among local businesses, labor and community organizations.  Since then more than 1,000 homes and 250 facilities have been renovated by nearly 50,000 volunteers.

Rebuilding Together’s 20th Anniversary Gala celebrates the city’s commitment to helping those in need, with tastes of the city from neighborhood restaurants and music from a Bay Area favorite, The Cheeseballs.  Tickets and additional information at www.rebuildingtogethersf.org.
