I recommend Public Hotel for your next trip to Chicago. Public is located in my favorite neighborhood, the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast on North State Street, just steps away from Michigan Avenue. The atmosphere is not only old Chicago, the hotel was once the Ambassador East, but it is now modern and chic as designed by Ian Schrager. In the evening, Public Library bar is a good spot for cocktails followed by light bites in the Living Room. After dinner on most nights, guests head back to the Library where DJs, such as Paul Oakenfold play and they can dance the night away. Comfortable, well-appointed rooms await. Until next time I’ll miss you Chicago, but my heart is in San Francisco.
