Riviera Regatta, ArtPoint’s French Riviera-themed Bastille Day celebration on July 13, 2013, took its cue from the Legion of Honor‘s featured exhibition: Impressionists on the Water. The event attracted some 600 partygoers to the museum for a lively evening of exhibition tours, French-inspired fare and specialty drinks, live music by The Glasses, remarkable acrobatic feats performed by Circus Center San Francisco, and dance music by DJ Marija DunnArtPoint is a group of young professionals that support the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco by hosting an annual program of fundraising events. Members are invited to exhibition-related lectures, gallery parties and museum galas.

Impressionists on the Water, organized in conjunction with America’s Cup in San Francisco this summer, features 85 works of art that celebrate the French Impressionists’ fascination with recreational and competitive sailing, a developing sport in 19th century France. Impressionists on the Water is presented in the Legion of Honor’s landmark building overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge through October 13.
