Big Love‘s Ginnifer Goodwin, you may also recognize her from Hes Just Not That Into You, soon to appear in A Single Man (Tom Fords directorial debut), recently hit the green carpet at the Environmental Media Awards in a dress designed by students from Academy of Art University.
Students Priscilla Guimarais, Kumiko Haruyama, Nui Tanapornwattana, Audrey Wang and Tramaine Tillman created a collection of sustainable dresses for a class project using processes and practices that ensure sustainability from inception to completion, and named the collection 1Oak (One Of A Kind). Ginnifer’s dress is made from dyed, treated and pleated hospital scrubs that would have normally been discarded.
Partying on later that evening at the U2 concert, Ginnifer changed into a Joie top, black IRO trousers, Stella McCartney shoes and a ring designed by San Francisco’s Amber Marie Bently. Amber Marie Bently is a member of RedCarpetSF’s style council and serves on many environmentally focused nonprofit boards.
