21POP, the annual art installation for FOG Design+Art by event designer Stanlee Gatti, provided a black and white focal point at the entrance to the show at Fort Mason, January 13-16, 2016. This year, Gatti’s 21Pop concept dedicated to “craft by hand,” celebrated the art and design of cut outs and featured materials including ceramic bowls, leather and paper. Past 21Pop booths at the FOG Fair explored themes such as cotton and wood, emerging artists, and master crafts in culinary arts.
The FOG Design+Art Preview Gala offered some 1,300 patrons early access to the vast range of furniture, fine art and design objects from 43 dealers and galleries before the fair opened to the public. In addition to interesting displays, the evening featured entertainment from DJ Jason Kendig and culinary creations from McCalls. Proceeds from the FOG Preview Gala supported SFMOMA’s exhibitions and education programs.
