The plan includes a return to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to provide access to clean, safe drinking water to the community of Kalebuka, a borehole at the site of the Georges Malaika School for Girls. Charlot Diskerud Malin brought Voss Foundation’s Women Helping Women project to the attention of some 80 San Francisco women during a luncheon event at the Ritz-Carlton on October 14, 2014. The event recognized the Voss Foundation 2014 Women Helping Women Honoree Kristy Caylor, co-founder, president and creative director of Maiyet, a luxury fashion brand.

Maiyet’s current collection is inspired by ancient techniques of master craftsmen from places such as India, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Mongolia, and Peru. In addition to sourcing from global artisans, Maiyet deploys customized training programs that help its partners create higher-quality products, while at the same time promoting stability and prosperity in their communities.
