Miss Asian Global, Gina Su, 25, and Miss Asian America, Jessica Lim, 27, were crowned on August 20, 2016, at the Herbst Theatre in San Francisco. Established by Rose Chung in 1986, the Miss Asian America and Miss Asian Global pageant aim to showcase the culture, beauty, intelligence and talent of young Asian American women. It is the longest running Asian American pageant in the United States and is produced entirely by volunteers.
This year, 31 contestants, ages 17 – 28, competed in cultural dress, bathing suit, talent and evening gown categories. The results included 17 titles and crowns for 13 women:

- Miss Asian First Princess and Miss STEM: Joanne Leung
- Miss Asian California and Miss Asian Second Princess: Angela Huang
- Miss Asian San Francisco and Miss Asian Third Princess: Kristine Hara
- Miss Asian Teen: Ally Gong
- Miss Congeniality: Tatiana Reger
- Miss Scholastic Achievement: Grace Dong
- Miss Community Service: Maya Gilliss-Chapman
- Miss Talent: Liezl Fernando
- Miss Cultural Attire: Crystal Lee
- Miss Entrepreneur: Sharon Chung
- Miss Photogenic: Erin Liu
Winners receive $3,000 scholarships sponsored by Monster Cable and Asian America Foundation. Proceeds from the pageant benefit Asian Perinatal Advocates, a nationally recognized child abuse/domestic violence prevention program, and the Stanford University Asian Liver Center.
