Hundreds of art lovers, patrons and collectors gathered at the historic Escalle Winery in Larkspur over the weekend of June 22nd for MarinScapes. The 30th annual MarinScapes event showcased the stunning beauty and natural scenery of Marin County, as captured by 30 local artists and photographers.
The wooded hills, historic barn and red brick inn at Marin’s first winery, now a private residence, set the backdrop for the breathtaking artwork. The weekend-long exhibition kicked off on Thursday evening with a sold-out artists’ reception and gala dinner. Friday night offered a meet the artists’ wine event, and on Saturday featured California landscape painter Davis Perkins spoke about his unusual background as a smokejumper, firefighter, and paramedic. On Sunday, Art Abloom, Marin’s premier art studio, presented a free workshop for aspiring artists ages 5 – 10.
As always, proceeds from MarinScapes benefit Buckelew Programs, a private, nonprofit, community-based organization that serves individuals and families experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges in Marin, Sonoma, and Napa counties.
