As part of the Asian Art Museum‘s 50th anniversary celebration, Saks Fifth Avenue presented a fashion show featuring Joseph Altuzarra and his resort 2017 capsule collection at the museum. Some 300 supporters joined the designer, along with event chairs Helina Au, Juliet Bergh, Alexandra Caban, Beth Grossman, Linda Lynch, Amy McKnight, Elyn Shim and Patrice Wilbur, for the special evening on October 17, 2016.
Cocktails in the museum’s light-filled North Court, a runway show of the collection, shown to the public for the very first time, and a sumptuous buffet dinner, rounded out the agenda. Of the collection, CFDA-award winning designer Joseph Altuzarra told Vogue, “I didn’t want ‘a huge look,’ but things women want to wear every day.” Tie-dye mixed with plaid on silk, navy and light, almost ice blue, with red lace trim, and red or yellow embroidered appliqués. Sequins, laces, studs, slip dresses, knit dresses and mini skirts, styled with collectible leather pieces, rounded out the look.
