One-of-a-kind designer wreaths, some fine art curated by Stephanie Breitbard, live music, catering from McCall’s and 450 supporters joined to make Children of Shelters‘ 20th anniversary a success for local children in need. The annual Jingle and Mingle event at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio on December 3, 2015, raised nearly $325,000 for children living in San Francisco’s homeless shelters. The popular wreath auction featured one-of-a-kind creations from Bay Area interior designers and florists. Top seller: a drum circle by Jen Kelly Wick of Restoration Hardware Teen, for $1,450. Of the 12 pieces of fine art, Jennifer Brandon‘s fetched the most at $1,550.
Jingle and Mingle event co-chairs Shonaree Michael, Jessica Kaludis, Katie Spalding and Andrea Zola also hosted SantaFest, a children’s holiday party, at the Golden Gate Club, on December 5th. Children from sponsor families decorated nearly 200 gifts for less fortunate children, made holiday crafts with help from Sophie’s Stress Free Soirees and visited with Santa Claus. Later that day, Children of Shelters’ transported 150 families to the event for the festivities, gifts, and a holiday dinner, too.
