Boys’ and Girls’ Town of Italy San Francisco Women’s Committee presented its 53rd annual benefit lunch and celebrated 70 years of service at the Olympic Club on December 3, 2015. The festive lunch featured models styled by Centro 39, a local and online retailer of luxury Italian fashions, and a holiday performance by the Ragazzi Boys Chorus. Barbara Traisman and Elizabeth Birka-White served as co-chairs; special guests included the Honorable Mauro Battocchi, Consul General of Italy, and President of Boys’ & Girls’ Towns of Italy Gabriele Delmonaco.
Boys’ and Girls’ Town of Italy offers a safe haven and a chance in life for some 30,000 hungry, homeless and orphaned children living on the streets of Rome. This year the organization launched Boys’ and Girls’ Towns of Ethiopia. The event in San Francisco raised funds for unaccompanied minors who have fled war and extreme poverty in their homelands.
