Napa Valley Festival del Sole 2012 audiences experienced performances from violin superstar Joshua Bell, famed mezzo-soprano Susan Graham, sopranos Danielle de Niese and Lisa Delan, baritone Nathan Gunn, cellist Nina Kotova, guitarist Angel Romero, pianist Helene Grimaud, the Russian National Orchestra, and dancers from the Bolshoi Ballet, just to name a few.
Festival del Sole, July 13 – 22, was a 10-day pairing of music, theater, dance, food and wine events, wellness and lifestyle programs set against the idyllic backdrop of Napa Valley. Intimate settings included Meadowood, a castle courtyard, a historic theater and a private lakefront beach. The seventh annual gala dinner and auction featured performances from jazz vocalist Antoniette Costa, cellist and beatboxer Kevin Olusola, and pianist and violinist Tara Kamangar. The evening also served as the premier for Meadowood Vintners Challenge Cup on Meadowood’s croquet lawns.
