Raphael House celebrated 45 years of service dedicated to homeless families in the Bay Area at its 20th Annual “There’s No Place Like Home” Gala on May 13, 2017. The event co-chaired by Josselyn Eccleston and Terra Craig Sollman raised more than $750,000 to support Raphael House’s mission of providing personal care and compassion while helping families achieve long-term stability and financial independence.
Some 600 supporters dressed in red carpet style gathered at San Francisco’s Palace Hotel for the gala dinner, live auction, and special acknowledgments. The event honored former Raphael House resident Alejandra Rodas and her family (all dressed by Macy’s for the occasion!). Barbara Hagar received the first ever Raphael House Community Impact Award, presented by emcees Jana Katsuyama and former Raphael House resident, current jazz chanteuse, Amanda King.
Net proceeds from the gala will support the Raphael House operating budget and allow expansion of its Career Development Program.
