Children’s Champions is an opportunity for everyone to get outside and play! Fit Kids and Wender Weis Foundation for Children host the benefit event for local underserved children each spring. This year, NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice not only received the Change Maker Award at Children’s Champions, but also hung out with the kids all day. “Their self esteem is increasing and they are not even aware of it  they are meeting some of their heroes and having fun,” explains Amy Wender Hoch, founder of Wender Weis Foundation for Children.

The family friendly gathering includes sports drills and clinics with Stanford teams and professional athletes, a healthy lunch, arts and crafts and dancing on the field. “This is a really special family day and it’s all about sports and fitness. We’re so excited to promote healthy living through this event,” said Ashley Hunter Riley, founder of Fit Kids. Plan to get involved. You can bring your children next year and help sponsor underprivileged kids to attend, too.
