What to Wear for an Afternoon Fashion Show on the Beach

On Saturday, August 6th, the League to Save Lake Tahoe and Saks Fifth Avenue will present their annual luncheon and fashion show featuring Peter Copping‘s Oscar de la Renta Resort 2017 Collection. The event marksĀ Copping’s second and final Lake Tahoe show for Oscar de la Renta. As you may recall, Oscar de la Renta handpicked Copping as his successor before hisĀ death in October 2014.

Don’t miss the historic fashion event — details on my calendar!Ā Besides sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat,Ā I recommend laid-back yet high-styleĀ attire for guests this year. 2016 summerĀ trends — rompers, jumpsuits, espadrilles, wedges and short dresses in cotton and lace — are all just right for the sunny and sandy scene. I consulted with Saks Fifth Avenue and Moda Operandi, and foundĀ some high-style options that are available right now, both in-store and online.

Saks Fifth Avenue and the League to Save Lake Tahoe fashion show, now in its 46th year, dates back to 1969 when designer Bill Blass began showing his collection to a few loyal clients and friends at Lake Tahoe. Since then, it has evolved into a widely anticipated fashion event and fundraiser for the League to Save Lake Tahoe.
