Red Carpet Bay Area recommends beauty, chocolate and shoes this Valentine’s Day! On the 700 block of Valencia Street in San Francisco’s Mission District you can get your beauty on at theBalm‘s new flagship store, and experience small batch bean-to-bar chocolate at Dandelion Chocolate Factory & Cafe. Of course, every girl wants a new pair of shoes! For those, we suggest checking out Ferragamo’s Valentine selection of styles in red and pink.
TheBalm’s makeup stations include an eye-shadow bar and a section they call “Quiet on the Set” where clients receive complimentary makeup applications complete with a recorded take home iPad tutorial video. Red Carpet Bay Area’s Jueun Hwang tried it out, enhanced the video and shared the helpful tips. TheBalm cosmetics are both paraben and cruelty-free, and the smart packaging is all about empowering women. Watch Jueun’s video for some helpful tips:
Located just a few doors down the street from theBalm is Dandelion Chocolate Factory & Cafe. At Dandelion, they roast, crack, sort, winnow, grind, conch and temper small batches of cocoa beans and then mold and package each bar by hand.
As for the shoes, Ferragamo‘s new 11,000 square foot boutique offers stylish selections for both men and women. To celebrate its new location and expanded store, Ferragamo hosted a cocktail reception on January 23, 2014. The event served as a benefit for the Fine Arts Museum’s MidWinter Gala, and was hosted by committee co-chairs Vanessa Getty, Kathryn Lasater, Allison Speer and Trevor Traina. The MidWinter Gala is scheduled for March 8, 2014 at the Legion of Honor in Golden Gate Park.
