San Francisco Ballet School, the official school of San Francisco Ballet presented its annual Student Showcase, An Invitation to Dance, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater, May 31 – June 2, 2017. Performances featured class demonstrations by students in levels 2-8, choreographed by Faculty Member Karen Gabay. The Student Showcase not only celebrated SF Ballet School’s exceptional students and curriculum but also provided audiences with a unique opportunity to see the next generation of ballet stars on the verge of becoming professional dancers.
Following the June 1st performance, the San Francisco Ballet Auxiliary led by Heather Cassady Martin hosted a benefit event for the school’s scholarship and financial aid programs at the Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco. Maria Ralph and Aimee West served asco-chairs for the celebratory dinner that honored newly appointed San Francisco Ballet School Director Patrick Armand.
