Bouquets to Art 2015

Bouquets to Art, de Young Museum
Bouquet by Francesca's Flowers and Garden, Santa Rosa, CA; Portraits of Elizabeth North Plumstead (Later Mrs. William Elliot), by John Wallaston, circa 1758

Once again, flowers surrounded the art from the de Young Museum‘s permanent collection for the 31st annual Bouquets to Art. More than 125 Bay Area floral designers produced arrangements that paid tribute to the paintings, sculptures, decorative arts, costumes and textiles. At the opening gala and preview event on April 13, models in floral fashions strolled among the guests. Students from the City College Environmental Design Program created the gowns and accessories almost entirely from fresh flowers and plants. The evening’s Scottish theme featured sounds from the Celtic Sands and Prince Charles Pipe Band while guests mingled and dined on a sumptuous Celtic buffet from McCalls.

Don’t miss the bouquets — they are on display for only six days — April 14 – 19.
