The French American Cultural Society aims to bring the best of French culture to San Francisco. On September 8, 2012, FACS presented its annual charity gala, Paris est une Fete, inspired by Hemingway‘s immortal book about Paris in the 1920s. Some 130 guests gathered at the Maritime Museum for Champagne, hors d’oeuvres, dinner and music from French mezzo-soprano Sophie Delphis and American world champion accordion player Cory Pesaturo.
All year long, FACS supports local events and nonprofits with French culture in mind. Partnerships include the San Francisco and Mill Valley International Film Festivals, French Cinema Now, SFMOMA, and Cal Performances, just to name a few.
