To celebrate its 75th birthday San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is offering visitors a glimpse of the people, formative moments and philosophies that have helped shape its evolution.  SFMOMA’s exhibition 75 Years of Looking Forward will open on January 16, 2010, with a free Friday night party and free admission to the general public over the weekend.  The anniversary show exhibition on view throughout 2010 features a range of 400 works from artists the museum had the foresight to collect early in their careers such as Bruce Connor, Sol LeWitt and Robert Rauschenberg.  On May 14, 2010, Norah Stone will host a gala for artists, donors, volunteers, art-world friends and civic leaders who have supported SFMOMA throughout its 75 year history.
