Red Carpet Favorites: Oscars 2014

Amy Adams in earrings by Tiffany & Co., at the Oscars

Red Carpet Bay Area’s favorite looks from the Oscars, 2014, have a few things in common — they are polished, elegant and simple, without unnecessary embellishment:

Lupita Nyong’o in a blue custom-made gown by Prada; she said the gown reminded her of home in Nairobi. Not only do we love the gown, but we applaud her unique hairstyle that worked beautifully with her very short hair.

Amy Adams in a Gucci Premiere gown; she said she was inspired by Kim Novak in Vertigo. Her bare decolletage with colorful earrings from Tiffany & Co., combined with the classic French twist hairstyle embodies the simple yet elegant look we love.

Kerry Washington in a gown by Jason Wu and goddess-style hair by Takisha Sturdivant-Drew was one of the most glamorous pregnant women we have ever seen on the red carpet!

Idina Menzell is a name we will not forget; in Vera Wang and Chimemto jewels.

Charlize Theron in a perfectly fitted black Dior Haute Couture with illusion straps; her stylist Leslie Fremar wanted to prove that black could be powerful on the red carpet. Done.

Sandra Bullock was a stand-out in an Alexander McQueen gown, bare neckline and Lorraine Schwarts diamond earrings.

Kristen Bell‘s classic updo and minimal jewelry complimented the intricately detailed and structured mermaid-style gown byRoberto Cavalli.

Camila Alves in a custom made Gabriela gown wanted to present herself as an extension of her husband Matthew McConaughey. We think her goal was expertly achieved.

Cate Blanchett in a beaded silk tulle gown that perfectly matched her skin, by Armani Prive; perfectly paired with her gently waved golden hairstyle by Robert Vetica and statement diamond earrings from Chopard.
