Prabal Gurung Fall 2015 New York Fashion Week

Prabal Gurung

Prabal Gurung’s fall 2015 collection features silhouettes that appear long and lean, though they are generously cut. “A lot of my friends are having babies. Their bodies change. I have realized a dress can be sexy without being skintight,” Gurung told Nicole Phelps of Style.com. Skirts and sheaths that fall below the knee, with sexy slits in front, are worn with chunky fur collars on top. A trip to the Adirondacks inspired Native American graphic patterns on sweaters and intricate beadwork on dresses and gowns.

Born in Singapore and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal, Gurung began work as a designer in New Delhi. He moved to New York to finish his studies at Parsons, The New School for Design. He launched his eponymous collection in New York in 2009.
