Margene spent 55 years examining dresses, their fit, color and accessories in her full-service, one-stop bridal shop on Grand Avenue in Oakland. At the end of the summer she is closing the doors and retiring. All of her inventory must go — hundreds of wedding dresses, cocktail and evening dresses, bridal accessories and costume jewelry, all at 30 – 70 percent off.
