My prediction for hair trends this summer is what women want: an array of sexy styles for diverse hair types. Bangs, or statement fringes, are big news for 2009, and they add instant interest to longer lengths.
In my salon, we are going to the extremes: honey blonds are going platinum, flat and limp hair is gaining volume, curly hair is changing to sleek and straight with center parts, and shoulder length hair is getting longer.
There are amazing new salon treatments and professional products for lifeless locks. Kerastase has the latest on adding texture and volume to fine hair while giving it bounce and movement. Professional colorists are choosing from a new color palette of bright and beautiful blonds, and in my opinion, the most recent and innovative service to hit the hair industry is the Keratin Smoothing Treatment. It smoothes curly, frizzy tresses into sleek and shiny hair without chemicals, and lasts up to six months.
