Marilyn Monroe: The Legacy of a Legend Exhibition is a curated look at Marilyn Monroe’s never seen before personal treasures and original costumes, on display in London, England, at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour through June 20, 2016. The exhibition, a collaborative with Julien’s Auctions, offers a glimpse of the Marilyn Monroe property available at auction November 19 – 20, in Los Angeles, California.
The exhibition and auction celebrate Marilyn Monroe in what would have been her 90th year. Showcasing the high glamour of 1950s Hollywood, the exhibition features iconic fashion pieces from the David Gainsborough-Roberts collection, including the sheer beaded dress from ‘Some Like It Hot’ and original costumes from notable films like ‘Niagara’ and ‘No Business Like Show Business’. In a stunning contrast between her personal life and her dazzling public persona, Marilyn Monroe: The Legacy of a Legend Exhibition takes a behind-the-scenes look at the screen actress’s life through personal papers from the estate of Lee Strasberg including selections from Marilyn’s journals and hand written letters. These are complemented by her favorite jewelry, watches and accessories.
