On August 14, 2010, the Unsung Divas presented Fashion on the Square, a runway fashion show featuring b Michael, Art Institute of San Francisco design student Eric Stultz, and a performance from Alonzo King’s LINES ballet. Y’Anad Burrell, a former instructor at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, founded Fashion on the Square in 2003 as a platform to blend established designers with designers who could not afford to stage their own shows during fashion week.
Fashion on the Square also served as a benefit for Wardrobe for Opportunity and K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers, organizations that provide clothing and hope to low-income job seekers, homeless families, victims of domestic abuse, families of the incarcerated, and disaster survivors.
