Yurie Pascarella is one of Red Carpet Bay Area’s Top Five Women of Style, 2011

Yurie’s style is timeless and elegant, and we are always intrigued, so we asked:

Would you please share a few fashion tips?  Always be yourself.  Fit is everything —  find a good tailor and choose quality over quantity to build your wardrobe over time. Good shoes and handbags make all the difference. Stay away from the hottest item of the season. Find your own style and stick to it.

Do you follow any rules when dressing for a black-tie event?  I plan ahead for black-tie looks and pull everything together in advance including the handbag, shoes, and jewelry.  I recommend not trying to look different all of a sudden. Be you!

What do you think of as a fashion don’t? Don’t try to look younger than you are; age appropriate doesn’t mean dowdy. Make looks your own and don’t follow trends blindly; if you have a doubt it’s a don’t.

Which are your top three beauty products? A skincare line called M Lab I found at Harrod’s and can buy online; sunscreen every day, I like EltaMD, and Latisse.
