Waterworld, a water park for kids of all ages, and a vacation paradise to my 10-year-old city kid is located just 25 miles east of San Francisco in Concord, California. Waterworld is open only during the summer months so I recommend getting over there soon for some wet and wild fun. The website warns: Many rides at Waterworld California are dynamic and thrilling! My son and I fully agree with the description. We had fun on every attraction, and the entire experience felt like a wild adventure. We hope to get back soon for another spin on the Tornado!
Things to Know Before you Go:
- Make it a deluxe experience by renting a cabana for the day
- If amusement park fair is not your style, bring your own food or eat before you arrive. There is a shaded picnic area located to the right of the entrance. Outside food and drinks, coolers and picnic baskets are not permitted inside the park itself
- Readmission is OK, but remember to have your hand stamped at the exit turnstiles to get back in
- Beer and wine are available inside the park
Fashion Notes:
- Wear flip-flops to save your feet from hot concrete
- Lather on the waterproof sunscreen — it’s sunny in Concord
- Bring a pair of sporty yet inexpensive sunglasses with UVA and UVB protection
- Thong swimsuits, Speedos or other revealing swimwear not permitted
- Swimwear is required for all rides and attractions
