Carol Tran invites people she views as chic and those she considers intellectual geeks for a monthly social and panel discussion.  Chic Meets Geek's most recent meeting was on February 4, 2010 at the Automattic Lounge, on Pier 38 in San Francisco.  [Side note: Automattic Lounge is not a bar, it is part of an office.  Automattic is the parent company of the blogging platform WordPress.]  Geeks were represented by Kai Huang, founder of Guitar Hero, Sumaya Kazi, founder of CulturalConnect, Dave McClure of Founder's Fund and Jessica Mah, founder of Indinero.  Chic speakers were dancer Maria Kotchetkova, actor Steve Wharton, pageant contestant Annette Jordan and musician Tim Galida.   The nonprofit Build.org was the beneficiary of proceeds from a silent auction.  Chic Meets Geek's first gathering was in November 2009.  Click on ChicMeetsGeek.com to find out about their next event.
