Fashion’s Night Out With Keylee Sanders

Fall Trends 2009

Keylee Sanders was at Neiman Marcus for Fashion’s Night Out on September 10, 2009, sharing tips on wearing the fall trends.  Of the many trends this season — rocker chic, red, animal prints, little black dresses, sparkles and knits — Keylee chose three on which to focus: leopard, cozy knits and strong shoulders.

1.  Leopard — Timelessly trendy leopard print seems to show up annually, and this year it can be found in collections from Oscar de la Renta to H&M.  Wear a leopard print dress, as Alexis Traina did to the San Francisco Opera Ball, or if that seems too bold, try a leopard hanbag, gloves, scarf, hosiery or a blouse. Wear your leopard with red this winter.

2.  Cozy Knits — San Francisco is the perfect city for a cozy trend.  Vests, jackets, sweaters, loops, shrugs and dresses in this fabrication, from thin to chunky, are everywhere.  If bulk is not your look, add a belt and cinch it at the waist.

3.  Strong Shoulders — It is true that many of us carry the weight of the world on our shoulders, and fashion has slightly widened our load this year. The new shoulder is Dynasty without the cat fight.  Wear it in the extreme like Lady Gaga, or subtly like Donna Karan.

Neiman Marcus San Francisco participated in Fashion’s Night Out, a global initiative and collaboration of American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and the City of New York, to celebrate fashion and bring some fun back to the shopping experience.  The store was open and party-esque until 10:00 pm with a DJ and special events throughout.
