Everyday Style Tips, Spring 2013

Red Carpet Bay Area wardrobe stylist Cori Miller asked Marty Murphy, owner of M Clothing in Corte Madera and Healdsburg, to share her favorite trends for spring 2013:

1.  Mint green & pistachio pieces provide a lovely pop of color and are surprisingly flattering for most skin tones. M is stocking beautiful mint silk blouses, both long and short-sleeve styles, by Theory.

2.  Shades of coral & orange are always among my favorites and these warm hues are a key trend for this summer. I recommend picking up a fun top; we have some lovely ones to choose from by Joie.

3.  Denim options have never been better.  From a classic boyfriend look at Citizens of Humanity to a greased and waxed straight-leg by J Brand, jeans are available in a full range of colors, patterns and fabrics.   Also, look for easy and chic shirts and dresses in chambray by Velvet and Splendid.

4.  Peplums are still everywhere — we like them as accents on jersey dresses and dramatic additions for t-shirts. Rebecca Miller and Alice & Olivia at M in both Corte Madera and Healdsburg.
