New Orleans’ Preservation Hall, established in 1961, is a music venue, a touring band, and a nonprofit organization known as the cornerstone of traditional New Orleans Jazz. Situated in the heart of the French Quarter on St. Peter Street, the Preservation Hall venue presents intimate, acoustic New Orleans Jazz concerts over 350 nights a year.
The Preservation Hall Jazz Band will be honored with SFJAZZ’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Previous recipients of the award include Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock, Bobby Hutcherson, and Zakir Hussain.
