Children’s Champions 2017 @ Menlo College

Children's Champions 2017Children’s Champions is a fun, family-friendly event benefiting at-risk children in the Bay Area. The Wender Weis Foundation for Children and Fit Kids are coming together to help make fitness fun. Held at Menlo College, Children’s Champions will feature sports drills, clinics, and demonstrations with Stanford athletes, including members of the Stanford football team. Visitors can also participate in Fit Kids activities such as an obstacle course, relay races, capture the flag games, arts and crafts. Don’t miss the fitness and fun, and the opportunity to take photos with professional team athletes and mascots!

LymeAid 2017 is the Bay Area Lyme Foundation’s 5th annual exclusive benefit dinner and live concert, held at a private home in Portola Valley, CA.

This year we are featuring live music by Grammy Award winner, singer and songwriter Kenny Loggins. Actor and beloved entertainer, Alec Baldwin, will serve as master of ceremonies. The event is by invitation only—please email kate@bayarealyme.org for more information.

LymeAid, presented by the Bay Area Lyme Foundation, is designed to facilitate collaboration between renowned scientists, physicians, ecologists, business leaders, and philanthropists to accelerate solutions for Lyme disease. The Gala: An Evening Benefiting Brain Aneurysm ResearchThe Gala: An Evening Benefiting Brain Aneurysm Research is a three-way cooperative between the Joe Niekro Foundation™, Mission:BRAIN, and The Aneurysm and AVM Foundation. The event will showcase our organization’s joint focus on research and awareness for brain aneurysms, AVM and hemorrhagic stroke, as well as neurosurgical care of indigent people.

Actor/director Zach Braff, who is best known for playing his role of Dr. John ‘J.D.’ Dorian on the hit television series, Scrubs (2001), will be our emcee, while athletes and celebrities from across the country will join patrons for an evening of fun, laughs, and memories to last a lifetime. Braff is also known for his writing, directing and acting roles in the films Garden State (2004) and Wish I Was Here (2014).

We are honored to announce our first ever William L. Young Achievement Award recipient, Dr. Michael Lawton. Dr. Lawton is the Tong-Po Kan Endowed Chair, professor of neurological surgery and vice chairman of the department at the University of California, San Francisco. As chief of one of the busiest cerebrovascular centers on the West Coast for nearly 20 years, Dr. Lawton is being recognized for his outstanding advancements and treatment of brain aneurysms, AVMs and hemorrhagic strokes.

American Cancer Society San Francisco Discovery GalaThe 2017 American Cancer Society San Francisco Discovery Gala is expected to raise more than $2 million in the effort to finish the fight against cancer.

Some 600 guests including American Cancer Society’s Board of Ambassadors will gather for a reception, elegant dinner, special guest entertainment, and a live and silent auction.
